The Technics SA-EH760 may turn on with a red light but not respond due to a bus-line communications error. This can happen if the flat cables are inserted incorrectly, preventing the system from operating. To fix this:

1. Check that each flat cable is inserted correctly until you hear a click.
2. Ensure the cables at the back of the unit are inserted in the correct order.
3. Make sure the white side of the cable is on the right side.
4. If the issue persists, check for a broken flat cable and replace it if necessary.
5. If the problem still exists, it may indicate a faulty IC (SA-EH760: IC901).

Following these steps should help resolve the issue.

The Technics SA-EH760 may only play radio through headphones due to a faulty output IC (IC601) in the tuner/amplifier section. If a DC voltage is applied to the speaker terminals, it can prevent sound from being output through the speakers while still allowing audio through the headphone jack. Replacing IC601 should resolve the issue.
