Alarm Applications/Failover Option
The S7–200 CPU 212 provides external warning and critical alarms for the
SIMATIC PCS 7 OSx system. The S7–200 is programmed at the factory for
this application. If replacement is required, order Alarm/Failover kit
6ES76550XX001BE1.

OSx uses two input channels of the S7–200 for failover detection purposes.
OSx uses three output channels of the S7–200 for external alarm
annunciation and failover detection. Each output channel has normally
open and normally closed contacts.

connection.
