The transfer case is integrated in the rear section of
the 7-speed automatic transmission. A special feature
of the transfer case is the single-speed side output
which includes a universal joint (for propeller shaft to
front axle).
In contrast to the two-speed side output of previous
transfer cases, the single-speed design does not
require a spur gear set with bearing. This has a posi-
tive effect on the efficiency, weight and noise charac-
teristics of the drivetrain.

The transfer case cannot be replaced separately. It
