    We recommend that you leave ibiza Rhapsody in Idle (with the keys locked), The Main Menu even when the player is not in use. In this mode, ibiza Rhapsody turns itself off periodically to conserve power, but still downloads content as needed.

    Once you become comfortable using the Touchpad to navigate through menus and select different items, try some of the following suggestions for more scrolling options.     Scrolling Right and Left Text-Entry ibiza Rhapsody features a text-entry ribbon that lets you input text without a keyboard. You can use this text- entry capability to search for music, give a playlist a name, find a podcast, and so on.

    To install the updated software, set the device up for charging using the power adapter and cable. Select “Install the latest update. At the prompt, select “Yes, continue.” When prompted, connect ibiza Rhapsody to a power source. (This ensures that ibiza Rhapsody remains on during the update process. ) The...

    In the Display area, select tracks you want to import. Click Import CD. When the importing process completes, the newly saved tracks are added to My Library. To transfer these tracks to ibiza Rhapsody, drag and drop them from My Library to the ibiza Rhapsody icon (located in the Sources area).

On the PC, launch Rhapsody Software and sign in. Click File, Add Tracks to My Library. The “Add Tracks to My Library” dialog box is displayed.

    Rhapsody- Owner's Manual Playing Media Playing Media The Main Menu is displayed when you turn on ibiza Rhapsody. The Main Menu provides access to all areas of ibiza Rhapsody. Playing Music This section describes some common ways of playing music.
  • Page 23 Internet. Note: When you stream music, it is not downloaded or saved on ibiza Rhapsody. If you wish to download the song (copy it to your player) while streaming it, simply press the Touchpad while the song is playing in the “Now playing” screen.

    Rhapsody Channels Rhapsody Channels The Rhapsody Channels music service is provided via wireless Internet. The procedures in this section assume that ibiza Rhapsody is already connected. Accessing Channels From the Main Menu, select “Rhapsody channels.” The Rhapsody Channels screen is displayed.

    Click My Channels. A list of your selected channels appears in Rhapsody Software Display area. Drag the channels you want to add from the Display area, and drop them onto the ibiza Rhapsody icon.     Connecting to the Internet Enabling Wireless You need to have wireless set to “on” (enabled) for ibiza Rhapsody to connect to a wireless network. With wireless enabled, ibiza Rhapsody periodically scans for wireless networks within range. It can also connect to your familiar networks automatically to receive automatic updates.

    Rhapsody- Owner's Manual Connecting to the Internet Using the Connect Button From any screen, press the Connect button (located at the top of the player). If your wireless settings are set to off, a screen prompts you turn wireless on.

    Adding a Familiar Network When ibiza Rhapsody connects to a network, the network becomes a familiar network. When ibiza Rhapsody attempts to connect, it tries the familiar networks first. (If no familiar networks are available, the player asks you to choose from any other available networks.)
  • Page 37 Prioritizing Familiar Networks When ibiza Rhapsody attempts to connect, it begins with the first listed familiar network. If it cannot connect, it tries the next familiar network on the list, and so on. Thus, by changing the sequence in which your familiar networks listed, you change which networks ibiza Rhapsody tries connecting to first.

    Locking the MAC Address Internally, ibiza Rhapsody uses a network’s MAC address to uniquely identify that network. The network’s SSID, on the other hand, is probably the name you will think of when selecting the network in the future. We recommend that you resolve this difference the first time you access a particular network, locking the SSID to that network’s MAC address.
  • Page 39 Rhapsody- Owner's Manual Connecting to the Internet Using a WEP Key To connect to a WEP-secured network, you must obtain a WEP key for that network. Contact the network administrator or service provider to obtain a WEP key. When prompted, use the Touchpad and text-entry ribbon to input the WEP key. Then select Confirm. (Typically, WEP keys are between 10 and 58 characters long.)
  • Page 40 Rhapsody- Owner's Manual Connecting to the Internet Inputting a Passphrase To connect to a WPA-PSK-secured network, you must obtain a passphrase. Contact the network administrator or service provider to obtain a passphrase. The prompt for your passphrase is accompanied by a text-entry ribbon. Use the Touchpad and text-entry ribbon to input your passphrase. Then select “Confirm.”...

    Note: Activate your free trial from ibiza Rhapsody, not from a PC. If you create a membership account, later on, your free trial must have originated from the device. Otherwise, Rhapsody cannot merge the accounts, and your downloaded songs will be lost.
