Open the cover.
Slide and hold the cover lock

then
slide and open the cover @ as shown.
Insert the batteries.
Insert the batteries with (+) and (-) ends
oriented correctly.
Close the cover.
Close the cover

and press downward
as you slide it until it clicks into place
