To reduce noise from the iLive ITB283B speaker when the television is on, use the Optical Input correctly:

1. Ensure you use a Digital Optical Audio Cable (not included).
2. Connect the cable from the television’s Optical Audio Output to the speaker’s Optical Input.
3. Power on the speaker by pressing the Power button.
4. Press the Source button repeatedly until SPDIF Mode is selected (indicated by an amber light).
5. On the television, set the audio output settings to PCM or Optical Audio and ensure they are turned on.

Properly configuring the audio settings should help minimize noise.
