The Life Fitness Lifecycle 9500HR Series bike may make a loud noise when pedaling due to the following reasons:
1. It is placed on a hard, non-carpeted floor, which amplifies noise. Solution: Place the bike on a carpeted or softer surface. 2. The user is leaning excessively to one side. Solution: Avoid leaning. 3. Crank bearings are not properly adjusted or are worn. Solution: Inspect, adjust, or replace as needed. 4. The alternator belt is loose. Solution: Adjust the belt to 1/4 inch (6 mm) deflection. 5. The alternator belt is worn. Solution: Replace the belt. 6. The alternator is malfunctioning. Solution: Listen for excessive noise and replace the alternator if necessary. 7. The free-wheel pulley is not rotating freely. Solution: Inspect and replace the pulley if needed.
