EverSmart Scanners Installation and Maintenance About This Document This guide provides detailed instructions about how to install the EverSmart scanners properly, and maintain them in good operational condition. The procedures included in this guide are identical for the following scanner types: EverSmart, EverSmart Pro, EverSmart Pro II and EverSmart Supreme.

Chapter 1 Site Preparation General Requirements This chapter describes the conditions that are necessary for proper EverSmart site preparation. This warning icon, which appears inside the scanner and in this manual, indicates that the scanner lamps are hot, and should not be handled before allowing them to cool off for several minutes.

The results can be either Passed or Out of Tolerance. If the test passes, the application automatically moves on to the next stage.
Chapter 6 Installation Program A fully automatic procedure for creating new machine tables is now performed. The duration of this procedure is approximately one hour, and a progress bar at the bottom of the screen shows the percentage of time that has elapsed. At the end of the tables, the parameters are automatically updated in the EverSmartScan.Prefs file, and saved back to the scanner.

Stage 8 - Backup to Diskette or External Media You can choose where to save the parameters: Diskette, Jazz, Optical, etc. If you choose Diskette, first insert a new diskette (formatted or unformatted) into the disk drive. Do not use the backup diskette provided with the scanner.

When you run the scanner application from the folder created during installation, the EverSmart Scan Log folder is automatically created in the same folder. All log files are written to this log folder. If, for any reason, you moved the application, a new EverSmart Scan Log folder is created in the new location.
The scanner operates with the following fluorescent lamps: one transparency lamp two reflective lamps two light table lamps (in EverSmart Pro, EverSmart Pro II & EverSmart Supreme) Replace the lamps when: the light level is too low (a message is displayed). This applies to the transparency and reflective lamps.
