To stop the 12-hour timer (chronograph) on the TAG Heuer Carrera:

1. Press the top button to stop the timer.
2. To completely stop it from running in chrono mode, press the bottom button while it is timing.

This stops the chronograph function.

The chronograph's seconds hand on the TAG Heuer Carrera Cal. 1887 may not move because it is part of the chronograph function and remains stationary until the chronograph is activated. This is normal behavior for chronograph watches. When the chronograph is not in use, the main seconds hand stays still while a smaller running seconds hand (usually in a sub-dial) keeps time.
