TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
The transcever does
not turn ON.
No sound from speaker. • Squelch level s too hgh.
Transmttng s mpos-
sble, or hgh power can
not be selected.
Scan does not start.
No beeps.
Dstress call cannot be
transmtted.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Bad connecton to the power supply.
• Volume level s too low.
• Speaker has been exposed to water.
• Some channels are for low power or re-
ceve only.
• The output power s set to low.
• TAG channel s not programmed.
• Beep tones are turned OFF.
• MMSI (DSC self ID) code s not pro-
grammed.
SOLUTION
• Check the connecton to the transcever.
• Set [SQL] to the threshold pont.
• Set [VOL] to a sutable level.
• Dran water from the speaker.
• Change channels.
• Push [HI/LO] on the mcrophone to select
hgh power.
• Set the desred channels as TAG channels.
• Turn the beep tone ON n Set mode.
• Program the MMSI (DSC self ID) code.
