2.1.5 Formatting a free area on a hard disk

1. If you are not logged on to the computer as an administrator, log on to the computer as
an administrator.
2. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
3. Click System and Security. Under Administrative Tools, click Create and format
hard disk partitions.
4. If you see the User Account Control window, click Yes.
5. The Disk Management window opens. Right-click a space indicated as "Unallocated"
to display a menu. On the menu, click New Simple Volume.
6. The New Simple Volume Wizard starts. Click Next.
