power from being switched on accidentally.When the service
disconnecting means cannot be locked,securelyfasten a
prominent warning device,such as a tag, to the servicepanel.
C. Donot usethis unit with any solid-state speedcontrol device.
D. Thisunit must be grounded.

tray, then turn offthe burner.BECAREFUL TOPREVENT BURNS. I f
the flames do not go out immediately,EVACUATE ANDCALLTHE
FIRE DEPARTMENT.
B. NEVER PICK UPA FLAMING PAN-You may be burned.
C. DONOTUSEWATER, includingwet dishclothsor towelsIa
violent steam explosionwill result.
D. Usean extinguisherONLYif:
1. You know you havea ClassABCextinguisher,and you
already know how to operate it.
2. Thefire is small and contained in the area where it started.
3. Thefire department is being called.
4. You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

A. Neverleavesurface units unattended at high settings.Boilovers
cause smokingand greasy spilloversthat may ignite.Heat oils
slowly on low or medium settings.
B. Always turn hood ON when cooking on high heat or when
flamb_ing food (i.e.CrepesSuzette,CherriesJubilee,Peppercorn
BeefFlamb_).

Cleanventilatingfans frequently. Greaseshould not be allowed
to accumulate on fan or filter.
Useproper pan size.Always usecookware appropriate for the
sizeof the surface element.

person(s) in accordance with all applicablecodes and standards,

B. Sufficientair is neededfor proper combustion and exhausting
of gasesthrough the flue (chimney)of fuel burning equipment
to prevent back drafting. Followthe heating equipment
manufacturer'sguidelineand safety standards such as
those publishedby the National FireProtectionAssociation
(NFPA), the American Societyfor Heating,Refrigerationand Air
ConditioningEngineers(ASHRAE) and the local code authorities.
When applicable,install any makeup (replacement) a ir system
in accordancewith localbuilding code requirements.Visit
GEAppliances.comfor available makeup air solutions.
C. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling,do not damage
electricalwiring and other hidden utilities.
D. Ductedfans must always be vented to the outdoors.
