    Android™ – what and why? Your Xperia smartphone from Sony runs on the Android platform. Android phones can perform many of the same functions as a computer and you can customize them to your own needs. For example, you can add and delete applications, or enhance existing applications to improve functionality.

    Getting started Assembly To remove the battery cover • Insert the tip of your finger firmly into the opening between the phone and the battery cover. Then lift up the cover slowly but firmly. Do not use sharp objects that may damage parts of the phone. To remove the battery Remove the battery cover.

    To charge the phone Plug the phone charger into a power outlet. Plug one end of the USB cable into the charger (or into the USB port of a computer). Plug the other end of the cable into the micro USB port on your phone, with the USB symbol facing up.
