To remove the permanent DTC code from a Volvo C30 D2 diesel after replacing the MAF sensor, follow these steps:

1. Ensure Proper Installation – Verify that the new MAF sensor is correctly installed and securely connected.
2. Clear Codes with a Scanner – Use an OBD-II scanner to clear any stored codes from the Engine Control Module (ECM).
3. Drive Cycle Completion – Drive the vehicle through a complete cycle, allowing the ECM to run its self-diagnostic checks and confirm that the issue is resolved.
4. Check for Pending Codes – If the code persists, ensure there are no vacuum leaks, weak turbo issues, or other related faults.
5. Reset ECM (if needed) – Disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the ECM, though this may not always remove permanent codes.
6. Verify Readiness Monitors – Ensure all monitors pass, as permanent codes require successful drive cycles to be cleared.

If the code remains after these steps, further diagnosis may be needed to check for underlying issues related to airflow or engine performance.
