The recommended setting for the Hotpoint RFA52 Series fridge freezer depends on usage conditions. If large quantities of food are stored or the ambient temperature is high, a lower temperature setting is advised. However, to prevent excessive frost formation and high energy consumption, the temperature knob should be adjusted to a lower value as needed. Additionally, for proper operation in colder environments (16°C or lower), the "Fast Freeze" button should be ON.

If the Hotpoint RFA52 refrigerator and freezer are not cooling despite making normal sounds, possible causes include:

1. The room temperature is too low (16°C or lower), which affects performance. In this case, the "Fast Freeze switch" must be set to ON.
2. The appliance may be overloaded with food, preventing proper air circulation.
3. Hot food may have been placed directly inside, raising internal temperature.
4. A thick layer of ice may have formed, reducing cooling efficiency—defrosting may be needed.

These issues can cause the compressor to run but prevent effective cooling.
