How to install applications to your SL-5500
1.
Connect the Docking Station to the PC.
2.
Turn on the SL-5500.
3.
Open the "SHARP I/O PORT" cover at the bottom of the SL-5500 and slide the
SL-5500 into the Docking Station.
4.
Launch the Qtopia Desktop on your PC.
The Qtopia Desktop top screen (Address Book main screen) appears on the
PC.
5.
Click the Documents launcher icon on the PC.
The Qtopia Desktop Documents screen appears.
6.
Drag-and-drop the ipk package file from the CD-ROM into the Qtopia Desktop
Documents screen on the PC.
The ipk package file icon will appear both on the Qtopia Desktop screen and the
Documents folder of the Home screen on the SL-5500.
The selected ipk package file is now copied to your SL-5500.
7.
In the Settings folder of the Home screen on the SL-5500, tap the "Add/Remove
Software" application icon.
8.
Then follow the installation procedure described on pages 93 and 94 of the
SL-5500 Operation Manual (booklet) that comes with your SL-5500.
Using the PC link software
(Intellisync for SL application)
Be sure to install the USB driver and Intellisync for SL application supplied on the
CD-ROM to your PC. For detailed installation procedures of the Intellisync for SL
application, see pages 2-3 of the separate on-line manual, "Intellisync for SL".
We suggest using the AC adapter to avoid low battery trouble during this procedure.
1.
Drag-and-drop the ipk package file from the CD-ROM to the Intellisync
Accessfolder shortcut icon.
(Installing the Intellisync for SL creates the shortcut on the PC desktop.)
2.
Connect the Docking Station to the PC.
3.
Turn on the SL-5500.
4.
Open the "SHARP I/O PORT" cover at the bottom of the SL-5500 and slide the
SL-5500 into the Docking Station.
