STOP SWITCH
Thestop switch is usedto turnoff the engineand must
be pushedbackto the ON positionbeforethe enginewill
start.
TO START ENGINE
1.
Attachsparkplug wireand rubberbootto spark plug.
2.
Gastank shouldbe filled 3/4 to full beforestarting.

Pushthe stop switchto the ONposition.See Figure9.

Standingon the left sideof the log splitterand facingthe front of
the engine,graspthr starterhandleand pull the rope outuntil you
feela drag.
6.
Pull the ropewith a rapid,continuous,full armstroke.Keepa firm
grip on the starterhandle.Letthe rope rewindslowly.
7.
Repeat,if necessary,untilenginestarts.Whenenginestarts,
movechokecontrolgraduallyto the RUN'__ I position.
8.
If enginefalters,movechokecontrol backto the CHOKEI_-I
positionand repeatsteps7 through9.
TO STOP ENGINE
1.
Pushthe stop switchto the OFF position.See Figure9.
2.
Disconnectspark plugwireand ground it to preventaccidental
startingwhilethe equipmentis unattended.
USING THE LOG SPLITTER
1.
Placethe log splitteron dry, levelground.
2.
Blockthe front and backof bothwheels.
3.
Placethe beamin either thehorizontalor verticalpositionand
lock it in placewith theappropriatebeamlock.
4.
Blockthe front and backof bothwheels.
5.
Placethe log againstthe end plateand only split woodalongthe
grain (lengthwise).
6.
To stabilizethelog, placeyourhand onlyon the sidesof the
log.Neverplaceyourhand on the end betweenthe log and the
splittingwedge.
7.
Onlyone adultshouldstabilizethelog and operatethe control
handle,so theoperatorhas full controloverthe log and the
splittingwedge.
