Check that the Precor banner appears on the display. Place the power switch in the ON position. The Precor banner should appear on the display. If the display remains blank, check that the cable at the front of the base assembly is connected properly.
® Using the EFX The EFX is designed so that you can work out with minimal instruction. The direc- tions on the console and the prompts on the display help guide you through your entire workout session. A special feature of the EFX is its ability to retain User I.D. information.

® The EFX 5.23 Display The display console lets you control your EFX workout session. The directions on the console and the prompts on the display guide you through the options. Before using the EFX, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with it so that you can use it safely and effectively.

® The EFX 5.23 Keypad When you first turn the unit ON, the Precor banner “PRECOR WORK OUT SMARTER” appears in the center display window. This banner indicates that the EFX is ready to accept user entries. Keypad Tips Important: The keys on the keypad are touch-sensitive. A light “touch” is all that is required to activate the key function.
Refer to Setup Mode and Prompts on page 30. SELECT keys 1 and 2: While the Precor banner is displayed, the SELECT keys act as User I.D. 1 and 2 (respectively). During a course, the Select keys change what items appear on the display.

Use the keys to display the INTV course. Press Enter. A prompt (example: REST 3 MIN) appears stating the number of minutes designated as the rest interval. You can change the number of minutes from 1 through 9 by pressing the Resistance keys.
To clear (delete) any resistance or incline settings that may be stored in a custom course, take the following steps: At the Precor banner, select your User I.D. by pressing the Select [1] or Select [2] key. Press Enter. Use any key to display the CST1 or CST2 course that you wish to clear.
