Fellows POWERSHRED C-480 with door closed the switch will run in reverse but will not turn on when in forward position. What is the cause and solution?
The Fellowes POWERSHRED 480 will not run forward unless the jammed material has been completely removed from the throat. The solution is to:
1. Spray special cutting block oil onto the cutting system.
2. Remove excess paper from the cutting system.
3. Run the cutting system forward and backward several times without feeding paper.
4. Shred in smaller quantities to avoid further jams.
Once the jammed material is fully cleared, the shredder should operate normally in the forward position.

@Mr. Anderson Thanks for the answer, but the POWERSHRED 480 did not jam when paper was being fed through it and stop working. I checked the paper path first and removed the little pieces of paper in the paper path. The unit has power, the motor is fine as it will run in reverse, and there is nothing jaming the paper path. The unit will not run in the forward direction nor will it shred paper.
