If an outsKle antenna is connected to the
television set, be sure the antenna system _s

against voltage surges and built up static
charges. Section 810 of the NatsonalElectrical
Code, NFPA No. 70-1975. provides =nformation
with respect to proper grounding of the mast
and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-

grounding

specifies
that the
cable ground shall
be connected
to the
grounding
system
of the building,
as close
to the point of cable entry as practical.
An outside
antenna
system
should
net be
IocateO in the wctnlty
of overhead
power
lines
or other electrm..al lights or power
circuits, or
where it can fall into such pow_
lines or
circuits.
When
installing an outsideentenna
system,
extreme
care should be taken to keep
from touching
such power lines or circuits as
contact with them might be fatal.
For added
protection
for this television
set
during
a lightning storm,
or when it is left
unattended
and unused for long peri<x:ls of
time, unplug it from the wall outlet and
disconnect
the antenna.
This will prevent
damage
due to lightning and power-line
surges

personnel.Adjust

those controls
that are covered

operating
instructtons as improper
adjustment
of other controls

damage

work by a qualified

to restore

set to normal operation.

television set is to remain unused for a
period of time, turn the television set "off"
