Yourrouteris a versatile toolandcanbeusedfor
manydifferent a pplications, Youmayroutgrooves,
carvedesigns usinga template, carvedesigns by
freehand, tapertableandchairlegs,mortise door
jambs,orcreatejoints,
ROUTING GROOVES
SeeFigure15,
Whenrouting across thefaceof boards, s etrouterat
desired depthofcut,place theedgeofrouterbase
against w orkpiece, andturnonthe router, S lowly feed
thecutterintotheworkpiece alongdesired lineof cut,

WARNmNG: If desired depthofcutis greater
thancanbesafelycutinonepass,makecutsin
twoor morepasses,
Whenrouting straight c utsacrossstock, c lampa
straight e dgetotheworkpiece touseas a guide,
Position thestraightedge parallel t othelineofcutand
offset t hedistance between thecutting edgeofthe
cutterandtheedgeoftherouterbase, H oldtherouter
baseagainst t hestraightedge a ndroutthegroove,
Whenrouting a groove widerthanthediameter o f the
cutter, c lampa straightedge o nbothsidesof the
cutlines, P osition bothguidesparallel t othedesired
lineofcutandspaced equaldistances f romthe
desired edges of thegroove, R outalongoneguide;
then,reverse direction androutalongtheotherguide,
