Removing
Unit From Carton
1. Pry the top, sides,and endsoff crate.
2. Set panelsasideto avoidtirepuncturesor personalinjury.
3. Removeand discard plasticbag that coversunit.
4. Removeany looseparts if includedwith unit (i.e.,operator's
manual,etc.)
5. Cut and removestrapswhichsecureparts to bottomof crate.
Unbolt anyremainingparts whichmay be boltedto the bottomof

Attaching
the Jack Stand

The jack stand is shippedin thetransportposition.
1. Removethe springclip andclevis pin and pivotthe jack stand
towardsthe groundto the operatingposition.
2. Securethejack stand in positionwith the clevispin and springclip.
See Figure3-1.

Attaching
the Tongue
1. With the log splitterstill standingupright,removetwo hex boltsand
hex nuts fromthe tank bracket.See Figure3-2.
2. Align the holesin thetonguewith the holesin thetank bracketand
securewith hardwarejust removed.See Figure3-2.
NOTE:High pressurehosemustbe abovethe tongueassembly.
Connecting
Cylinder
to Beam
The log splitteris shippedwith the beamin the verticalposition.
1. Pull out the verticalbeam lock,rotateit back,and pivotthe beamto
the horizontalpositionuntil it locks. See Figure3-3.
