5. Moving a scanner from a cold place to a warm place can cause condensation on the metal parts, resulting in a faulty operation. CHAPTER 5 IV. CANON SCANNER TEST A. Outline Canon Scanner Test is utility software to check if faulty scanner operation is due to hardware or communication with a host computer. Windows : ScanTest.exe (English/Japanese is switched according to the language to be used in Windows.)

Causes and corrective actions for error messages which may occur during Canon Scanner Test are described below. 1) When Canon Scanner Test is started, "Unable to find USB scanner" is displayed. Cause 1 : Device driver for the scanner is not installed in the host computer.
