There are several possible reasons why there is no sound from the Boss Audio Systems GT-100 when a guitar is plugged in:
1. Protection Circuit Delay – The unit has a protection circuit that requires a few seconds after being turned on before it operates normally. 2. Output Settings – The output may be set to "MUTE" while using the tuner, preventing sound from being heard. 3. MIDI Settings – If MIDI messages are set to be received from the USB port and the USB is not connected, no sound may be heard. 4. USB IN-OUT Mode – If the USB IN-OUT mode is set to "DRY OUT," the guitar input may be sent directly to the computer without passing through the GT-100’s effects, potentially causing no sound output from the unit. 5. Volume Levels – The volume of the connected equipment may be minimized, preventing sound from being heard. 6. Patch Settings – If patches containing changed settings have not been saved, the sound output may not function as expected.
Checking these settings should help restore sound output.
