ASSEMBLY
Battery
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain
lead and lead compounds.
The battery is disconnected and strapped into the battery tray for
shipment.
1. Remove the battery maintenance cover (see page
2. Remove the battery strap from the bottom hook, and then remove
the battery.
3. Remove the red cable and the black cable from the twist clip, and
reinstall the battery.
4. Remove the protective cover from the battery positive ( ) terminal,
connect the red cable to the battery positive ( ) terminal.
5. Connect the black cable to the battery negative ( ) terminal.
6. Secure the battery by hooking the strap onto the bottom hook of the
generator.

7. Install the battery maintenance cover in the reverse order of removal
(see page 56
Never operate the generator without the maintenance cover in place,
as poor engine and generator performance will result.
