Select the [Events] tab.

In the Scanner Events category, select [Canon Scanner Push Button]
(Start Button on the front of the scanner), and in the [Send to this
Application] category, confirm ScanGear Toolbox is checked.
Or select [Canon FAU Push Button] (Film Scan Button on the top of the
Film Adapter Unit) is selected in the Scanner Events category, confirm
ScanGear Toolbox is checked.
To set a program other than ScanGear Toolbox to start with the
scanner's Start Button, select a push button type and check on the
application program instead of ScanGear Toolbox. Click the [Apply]
button and the [OK] button.

Click the [OK] button in the Properties dialog and close the Control
Panel.
