Required patches

This release was tested with the current Sun Solaris patches installed. The latest patch information is
available on the Sun web site:

CAUTION:
You must install the required patches. Your system will not function properly without them.
Switch support
This release supports the Fibre Channel (FC) switches and firmware versions listed in the HP StorageWorks
SAN design reference guide, which you can download from the HP StorageWorks web site:

NOTE:
HP recommends that you
upgrade all switches in the SAN.
Multiple-path support
A Sun Solaris system with EVA4000/6000/8000 storage requires the installation of either Sun Solaris
MPxIO or VERITAS VxVM/DMP multipathing software on each host to achieve high-availability, multipath
capability.
Sun Solaris MPxIO and VERITAS VxVM/DMP multipathing software require two FC adapters (FCAs)
connected to both controllers.
Single-path support
Solaris servers require VERITAS Volume Manager to support single-path mode.
NOTE:
Do not use single-path mode in mission-critical environments.
