  • The Kangoo Z.E. charger has power of 7kW (32A) single-phase. Charging at 32A (220v) single-phase is therefore optimal. This is the mode to recommend.

STAGE 5: Driver's Position

DRIVING RANGE MANAGEMENT
An essential tool for savingenergy.
Remind the customer that the battery provides the electrical energy necessary to the engine for moving the vehicle.
Explain that the remaining driving range displayed is calculated according to the energy consumption over the last 200 km travelled (or the last 30 km if reset). The estimated driving range may vary even if the vehicle is 100% charged.
Wind and the heat in the passenger compartment affect driving range, but the driver cannot influence these factors. Explain to the customer that they play an active role in their own driving range, since they have control over certain factors that impact driving range:
DRIVING RANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Use of heating and air conditioning.
  • Vehicle speed.
  • Charging of the vehicle.
  • Topography (ascents, flat areas, descents). Show your customer the different features that will help them reduce their energy consumption and optimise the driving range of their vehicle.
    • Tell your customer that the battery is also sensitive to the outside temperature and that it performs better in warm weather than in cold weather.

STAGE 5: Driver's Position

DRIVING RANGE MANAGEMENT
An essential tool for savingenergy.
Give the customer the actual driving range scale:

DISTANCES IN KM (outside temperatures -5°C / +20°C) KANGOOZ.E. 33 -5°C/+20°C CYCLE
Actual distance without heat pump 120/ 200 ACTUAL DELIVERER CYCLE
Actual distance with heat pump 135/ 200
Actual distance with additional heating (with or without heat pump) 160

Other factors that influence distances:

  • +150 kg of load distances reduced by 10%
  • No wiremesh partition in the vehicle in winter distances reduced by 5 to 6%
  • ECOmode used distances increased by 10%

Emphasise:

  • The charge level, indicating the amount of power remaining.
  • The backup threshold, indicating that when the battery reaches about 12% charge, a warning light turns on, accompanied by an audio signal.
  • Imminent immobilisation thresholds and their working principles.
  • The electronic system temperature warning light .
  • Low-batterywarning light.

POWERSAVER
The power saver, integrated into the instrument panel, makes it possible to see vehicle energy consumption in real time and manage the operating life of the battery. Explain the way the power saver works and what each zone means:

Usage zone 0: "neutral"

  • This indicates zero consumption.

Usage zone 0: "energy recovery"

  • This indicates that the engine generating electrical current during deceleration (lifting the foot from the accelerator or applying the brakes), which recharges the battery while braking the vehicle.

Usage zone B: "consumption recommended"

  • This indicates that the traction is battery is producing the electrical energy the engine needs to move the vehicle.

Usage zone C: "consumption not recommended"

  • This indicates high energy consumption.

DRIVING RANGE MANAGEMENT
An essential tool for savingenergy.
ECO MODE
To optimise vehicle driving range.

Explain to the customer the benefit of using the "ECO mode" function for optimising the vehicle's driving range and how it affects all of the factors that consume energy: engine power, heating and/or air conditioning, etc.)
With the ECO mode, you can increase driving range by an impressive 10%!

Activation of the function

  • Press the switch (1).
  • The light (2) appears on the dashboard.

Explain to the customer that while driving they can temporarily quit ECO mode to recover the engine's performances.
To do so, firmly and fully apply the accelerator.
ECO mode is reactivated when you ease up on the accelerator.

Deactivatingthe function

  • Press the switch (1).
  • The light (2) turns off on the dashboard.

Resetting the remaining driving rangeindicator for the customer

  • The estimated driving range is simulated based on the vehicle's usage history.
  • Resetting will give a driving range based on the last 30 km of driving.

AIR CONDITIONING AND HEAT PUMP
The heat pump on KANGOO Z.E. is a reversible air-conditioning system. Show the customer the heatingand air conditioning controls.
Tell them what each control does:
AIR CONDITIONING AND HEAT PUMP

  1. Air recycling control.
  2. Adjust the air temperature and select the heating programming, air conditioning programme.
  3. Adjust the ventilation speed.
  4. Adjust the distribution of air in the passenger compartment.
  5. De-icing and demisting control and indicator light for the deicing rear window and the de-icing door mirrors.
  6. Control and light for starting the A/C air conditioning (subject to vehicle).
  7. Switch off heating. In the off position, the heating stops consuming power.

Tell the customer that the heat pump is effective for heating in the - 5°c/10°c range of outside temperature; similarly, it does not work in cooling mode below 10°C.

  • Outside temperature < 10°C In this mode, air coming into the passenger compartment is not dehumidified.
  • Outside temperature > 10°C The cold circuit of the heat pump is in operation. In this mode (A/C air conditioning), air coming into the passenger compartment is cooled and then reheated, thus dehumidifying it. Demisting is therefore quicker.
  • To optimise the heating and air conditioning performances, the interior and exterior ventilation can run for up to 15 minutes after turning off the engine.
  • Say that the preconditioning starts 30 minutes before the programmed time.
  • Say that the vehicle must be connected to the mains with a charge of more than 90% for the preconditioning function to start.
  • The function automatically switches off 10 minutes after the programmed time.

VEHICLE PRECONDITIONING
This function turns on the heating in cold weather and the air conditioning in warm weather.

Conditions: The battery charge must be above 90%. The vehicle must be plugged into the mains. Control 2 must be in one of the positions (hot or cold)
To programme the start time of the function:

  • Navigate in the menu using buttons C and D until the message "COMFORT PROG" appears.
  • Long press on button D on the pad 5, the hour flashes.
  • Short press on button C to adjust the hour.
  • Long press on button D on the pad 5, the minutes flash.
  • Short press on button C to adjust the minutes.
  • Confirm with a long press on the button D on the pad 5. The message "COMFORT PROG" and the programmed time are displayed on the dashboard 4.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
In heating mode, explain to the customer that there is always an audible banging inside or outside the vehicle for a few seconds after the engine is switched off. This also happens while driving when the air conditioning is switched off (ventilation switch-off control).

TYRE PRESSURE
Safety comes first!

The driver is alerted if there is insufficient tyre pressure (deflated or punctured tyre, etc.).

TYRE PRESSURE WARNING
The tyre pressure loss alert system is a direct system with a pressure sensor on the valves, which periodically measures tyre pressure during driving.
The orange indicator light 1 comes on as a warning.

RESETTINGTYRE PRESSURE
Tell the customer that after any change in the pressure of one of the four tyres (namely, after use of the tyre inflation kit, over-inflating for motorway driving, deflating (if pressure too high), after a wheel change or swapping tyres), the system must always be reset after the reset procedure to prevent erratic alert messages.
Perform this reference value resetting procedure together with the customer:

  • By successively and briefly pressing the button3 or 4, select the "TYRE PRESSURE REACHED" function on the display 2.
  • Long press (3 seconds) one of the buttons3 or 4 to begin the initialisation. The set message displayed confirms that the request has been received.

The reset is complete after driving at over 40km/h for several minutes.

  • Tell your customers that the tyre pressure must be reset when the engine is cold.

DISPLAY
Explain the various display configurations of the orangeindicator light:
The display 2 on the dashboard informs about any inflation errors (tyre deflated, punctured, etc.).

Deflated or punctured: Indicator light on
The system has detected that the tyre pressure is significantly lower (-20%) than the reference value (saved).
Tell the customer that, depending on the situation, this indicator light may be accompanied by the message "READJUST TIRE PRESSURE" or "
PUNCTURE". This message is accompanied by the indicator light.
The four tyres must be re-inflated and checked, then "ACQUISITION" resetting.

Indicator light flashes for 70 sec then steady
This indicator light is accompanied by the message "CHECK TYRE SENSORS". This message is accompanied by the indicator light .
They indicate that at least one of the wheels is not fitted with sensors (spare wheel for example). In other cases, an electronic diagnostic needs to be conducted as a Renault after-sales service.

  • It is possible that a sudden loss of tyre pressure (e.g. burst tyre) may not be detected by the system.

AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS
Lighting adapts to light conditions, ensuring there is always proper lighting while you drive.
Tell the customer that, when the engine is running, the dipped beam headlights are automatically turned on or off depending on the light conditions (if vehicle fitted).
When the switch is on, show them how to turn the function off by pressing the button (3) for at least 4 seconds.
Explain to them how to turn the function on by repeating the same procedure.

WIDE VIEW MIRROR
A new perspective on safety.
Tell the customer where the Wide View Mirror is located (if fitted).
Very useful at intersections, this blind spot rear-view mirror located in the passenger sun visor is an important safety feature. It more than doubles the right side visibility angle, thereby eliminating the blind spot, which is very large on the quarter panel versions.
WIDE VIEW MIRROR

Z.E. VOICE
To guarantee the safety of all road users!
Tell the customer to warn other road users, particularly pedestrians and cyclists, of their presence.
Explain to them that the system is automatically activated when the engine is started if the vehicle speed is between 1 and 30 km/h.

Activation/Deactivation
Invite the customer to start the engine, pressing the switch (1) to turn on/off the feature. The light (2) in the switch (1) will turn on or off.
Explain that the sound of the alert can be adjusted:

  • Hold down the switch (1): you will hear the different sound options.
  • Release the switch (1) when you hear your chosen sound.

After several weeks of using Kangoo, the customer will have questions about the equipment and features and may have encountered difficulties.
Start by answering their questions, ask them for feedback, then guide and advise them.
Here is some additional information that will help the new Kangoo Z.E. owner make the most of their cars innovative features and enjoy a special experience on-board.

ADDITIONAL BOILER
Additional diesel oil heating can be fitted in the vehicle and make it easier to heat the passenger compartment. This increases comfort without reducing the vehicle's driving range.
Turning on the additional heating deactivates the other heating, heat pump and air conditioning modes.

Conditions of use:

  • The vehicle's engine must be running.
  • The switch 4 must be activated.
  • The ventilation control 2 must not be in position 0.
  • The temperature control 1 must not be in the "heating off" position 3.
  • The minimum fuel level must not be reached.

The additional heating is powered by a 13-litre diesel tank, which generates an operating life of around one week in extremely cold conditions.
If the engine is running and the heater is on, when the driver opens the door a message appears on the dashboard accompanied by an audio signal to tell them to switch off the additional heating.

  • Tell your customer that when the minimum fuel level is reached, the indicator light is illuminated on the dashboard. After a few minutes of operation, a dashboard message indicates that the additional heating has been switched off.
