Introduction

The NT301 CAN OBDII-EOBD Code Reader form Foxwell is the easiest and quickest solution for OBD faults. When it comes to diagnosing Check Engine issues you'd never go wrong with the new NT301 code reader. It offers such useful information for entry-level pro and savvy DIYer that they can quickly and efficiently troubleshoot OBD2/EOBD problems on today's vehicles. In addition, it's 2.8" TFT color screen and hot keys for I/M readiness test, and readings/clearing DTCs make it excellent value for money.

  3. Green LED Display - indicates the engine system is working normally (all monitors on the vehicles are active and performing their diagnostic testing), and no DTCs are found
  4. Yellow LED Display - shows the tool finds a possible problem. Pending DTCs exist or/and some of the vehicle's emission monitors have not run their diagnostic testing.
  5. Red LED Display - indicates there are some problems in one or more of the vehicle's system. In this case, the MIL lamp on the instrument panel is on.

  8. LEFT SCROLL KEY - goes to previous character when looking up DTCs. Scrolls back and forth through codes found and through different screens of data. Also it is used to make selection of PIDs when viewing custom PID list, and to view PID graphs.
  9. RIGHT SCROLL KEY - goes to next character when looking up DTCs. Scrolls back and forth through codes found and through different screens of data. Also it is used to cancel all selections of PIDs when viewing custom PID list.
  10. One Click I/M Readiness Key - quick checks state emissions readiness and drive cycle verification.

  14. HELP Key - accesses to the Help function and it is also used to update the code reader when long pressed.

  1. Test on the ignition of your car.
  2. In the main menu, ENTER OBDII/EOBD, then NT301 starts scanning, wait for several seconds, choose "yes/no" with right arrow key, and enter the Diagnostic Menu.
  3. Choose "Read Codes" - Choose each selection to check. Pending Codes means the codes need to be confirmed after several driving cycle.
  4. If the code with " " symbol, please press HELP To get DTC guide for possible car issues. If not, take photos of each codes you have or write them down. Google them and find more references on Internet to help to locate your car issues.
  5. Enter "Live Data", graphing selected live data will also help locate bad sensors.
  6. Enter "View Freeze Frame", which is a snapshot of critical vehicle operating conditions automatically recorded by the on-board computer at the time DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) set. Check the data which you need to locate bad sensors.
  7. O2 Monitor Test, On-Board Monitor Test, Component Test, the availability of these tests may depend on the actual condition of your vehicle.
  8. Enter "I/M Readiness".

Updating

  • Do not disconnect the code reader from computer or power off the computer during the process of updating.
  • No Registration Required
  • PC: Windows 7 Windows 8 and Windows 10 supported
  1. Download the update tool NT Wonder and install it.
  2. Enable NT Wonder and connect NT301 to computer with USB cable.
  3. Click <Update online> or <Update offline> to start updating according to the software version conditions.
  4. An Update Finishes Message displays when the update is completed.
