Fitting your mask

Before connecting your PAP machine, take your Before connecting your PAP machine, take your time and follow the steps below.

  1. Ensure one headgear clip is unhooked. Rotate to remove.

  2. Place the seal onto your face and guide the headgear over your head.
  3. Hook the headgear clip back onto the frame.
  4. Gently adjust the bottom straps to fit.
  5. Gently adjust the blue forehead straps to fit.

Connect to your PAP machine

Connect the breathing tube to your mask and turn the air on. This may feel strange at first and you may notice some air leaks.
Next we'll fine-tune your mask.

You're in control — don't be afraid to keep adjusting your mask to achieve a comfortable fit.

  1. If the headgear touches the top of your ears, adjust the crown strap.
  2. If there are excessive leaks or discomfort around your nose, adjust the blue forehead straps.
  3. If there are excessive leaks or discomfort around your mouth, adjust the bottom straps.

To reduce discomfort, the mask should be worn as loosely as possible without excessive leaking.

Your mask is made up of a number of different components. It can be disassembled for cleaning and replacement.

Headgear Settings Tip

To save your headgear settings when cleaning, simply remove the clips from the frame. The forehead clip slides down from the top of the frame. The headgear clips can be rotated downwards to disconnect.

Check the swivel is not stuck in the breathing tube.

Cleaning and Replacement

It's important to clean your mask regularly in order to reduce the build up of bacteria and allergens.

  1. Hand wash all parts in warm soapy water. Don't soak for over 10mins.
  2. Rinse each part with fresh water to remove soap residue.
  3. Inspect all parts to ensure they are visually clean.
  4. Leave all parts to dry out of direct sunlight.

Cleaning Tips

  • Your headgear can take a long time to dry after washing. Clean it earlier in the day to allow time to dry.
  • Your other mask parts will take time to dry also. Try to establish a daily cleaning routine so they are dry before going to bed.
  • Do not clean your mask in the dishwasher as this will damage your mask.

Mask Part Replacement

Regularly inspect your mask for signs of wear and tear – you may need to replace parts of your mask from time to time. To confirm your eligibility for replacement mask parts, contact your healthcare equipment provider.
