12 Maintenance

The operation of the PiCUS acoustic tomography system requires very little maintenance.
Careful and proper handling of the device is strongly recommended. Please observe the
following guidelines:
- Do not bend or pinch cables, especially in the case lid.
- Avoid striking the sensors or allowing them to "jump" on magnetic materials.
- Dry the device after use in humid environments. Ideally, store it in a dry cabinet.
- Keep magnets free from dirt and debris. Do not clean magnets with hard materials to
avoid damaging the surface coating.
- Store the device within a temperature range of 1°C to 45°C. Do not store in freezing
temperatures!
- Occasionally clean the hammer contact surfaces using a lightly abrasive material.
- Do not store the PST 3 with an empty battery. Charge the battery to 80%-90% before
periods of inactivity.
Batteries naturally degrade over time but should withstand several hundred charge-discharge
cycles. However, battery lifespan greatly depends on usage and environmental conditions.
Sensor calibration is not required. However, if needed, we can provide calibration certificates
from our laboratories to meet ISO 9000 requirements. Please contact our service department
