Crimp Tool for PEX Copper
Rings
1. Place copper ring over end of tubing.
2. Push pipe onto barbed fitting all the way to shoulder stop.
(Fig. 1)
3. Pull back on the upper handle to open the tool jaws
4. Grasp the handles lightly to maintain the tool in the open
position
5. Center the tool jaws over copper ring (Fig. 2)
6. Loosen your grip to allow the spring pressure to close the
jaws around the ring.
7. Before squeezing the handles make sure the copper crimp
ring is approx. 1/8" to 1/4" from end of tubing and shoulder
(Fig. 1) CRIMP EACH COPPER RING ONLY ONCE!
8. Squeeze the handles closed until the handles butt.
9. Check the crimp with the crimp gage provided. Measure the
crimped ring perpendicular to the seams of the crimp. (Fig.
3) A properly crimped ring should pass the GO side of the
gage and not pass the NO-GO side of the gage. If the ring
does not pass the GO gage, the tool is probably worn and
needs to be adjusted as instructed in the Adjustment
Procedure.
