Check SD Card compatibility
A) SD card must have a U3 rating to avoid corruption and camera errors
Slow or overused SD cards can result in file corruption, overheating and other camera errors.
B) Old or previously used SD cards, conduct a Full Format on a computer
Use FAT32 for 32GB or less and exFAT for larger sizes. Note that SD cards degrade after limited write
cycles before performance degrades, requiring replacement.
C) Use camera to Quick format the SD card
Follow the camera navigation to perform a quick format of the SD card (commonly: delete all).

Prepare the camera for use with UpBlink
GoPro HERO11 and HERO10
A) Install GoPro Labs camera firmware

*Note:
If you have a HERO11 purchased from CamDo, skip steps 2A & 2B. GoPro HERO11's
purchased from CamDo come pre-loaded with the GoPro Labs firmware, QR code
activated, and pre-tested with UpBlink.
B) Scan the GoPro Labs QR code
Activate GoPro Labs by pointing a powered GoPro at the QR code; a
checkmark confirms acceptance.
C) Remove the GoPro Battery
For the QR code to work with UpBlink, the GoPro battery MUST be removed.
D) Test GoPro Labs turns on the camera
Connecting the GoPro to power, the screen briefly displays:
WAKE2TUSB
E) Connect UpBlink to the camera
Link UpBlink and GoPro via USB cable and adapter. There is a white dot on
the cable-end that should face up like the UpBlink logo.
Sony RX0
A) Insert a charged Sony battery
The camera must have the battery inserted.
B) Enable cameras "PC Control" USB mode
MENU→Setup(3)→[USB Connection]→[PC Remote]
C) Adjust cameras image save destination to include "PC"
MENU→Setup(3)→[PC Remote Setting]→[Still Img. Save Dest.]→([PC+Camera]or[PC Only])
D) Connect UpBlink to camera with check mark facing UpBlink's label
The Sony cable's checkmark (✔) symbol must be facing UpBlink's label; the cable
orientation is not reversible.
GoPro HERO5 to HERO8
A) Remove the GoPro Battery
This aids with recovery after camera crashes.
B) Connect UpBlink to the camera
Connect GoPro to UpBlink using provided custom CamDo USB-C cable, which is reversible
at both ends.
Upload compatibility
Only HERO5 Black can upload files via UpBlink. HERO6-HERO8 can capture but can not
upload files.

  • Page 2 *The power supply must have Always On Mode: Due to low power draw between triggers, some power banks or smart chargers might shut down, interpreting UpBlink as fully charged or disconnected. Use power sources like CamDo’s V50 battery pack with Always On Mode. The V50 has “Always On” mode active automatically.
  • Page 3 Clicking the sync time button will send UpBlink your device’s timezone and date. Check that UpBlink has the most recent firmware and internet is available UpBlink requires an internet connection to contact CloudX for file storage and maintaining the latest firmware. A) Open the Upload menu For UpBlink's internet access info.
  • Page 4 A) Select image upload size UpBlink can upload a smaller image than what is on the SD card to reduce file transfer size. B) Set Upload Timeout Upload triggers end when this period has elapsed or all pending files have uploaded.
  • Page 5: Exit Programming Mode

    UpBlink schedules are not triggered in this mode. A) Click the RESTART IN CAPTURE MODE button This will reboot UpBlink to return to capture mode. B) LED will flash yellow until programming mode has ended This indicates capture mode is active when it stops flashing.
  • Page 6 5:02 PM. CloudX Registration and Subscriptions ➤ UpBlink offers a 4-week free trial for the CloudX. ➤ Upon successful connection CloudX, UpBlink will be registered to the email's CloudX account used in programming.
  • Page 7 ➤ Do not use modems with internal batteries as UpBlink does not power USB-A port between uploads, potentially draining the battery. ➤ On deployment site, initiate UpBlink's programming mode to register the modem with an optimal cell tower for faster connections.
