2.1 Purpose of the product With the Ofen, 21energy provides a new type of fan heater on the market, which is essentially operated with the waste heat from information technology devices, in particular with the waste heat from Bitcoin miners. For this purpose, used Bitcoin miners that have already been introduced to the EEA are used, which are mounted in a specially designed metal housing.
  • Page 10: Modification

Bitcoin miners and their power supply units sold by 21energy GmbH are, as mentioned at the beginning, used devices. These are cleaned by 21energy GmbH and fitted with new fans. The fans can be replaced in accordance with the Bitcoin Miner manufacturer's operating instructions. The fans on the Bitcoin Miners themselves are replaced by loosening four screws per fan and unplugging the connection cable.

  • Page 31: Fan Adjustment And Noise Level Optimization

Fan adjustment and noise level optimization With its Antminer S9 and solid housing, the 21energy Ofen has a high mass. Shortly after switching on the Ofen, all components are still cold and warm up during operation. The fans of the Antminer S9 are set at the factory to cool the chips installed on the hashboards to 79°C.
  • Page 32 The fan speed depends on the ambient temperature in which the Ofen is operated and the resistance. The resistance can increase over time if there is too much dust in the dust filter on the underside of the Ofen. For this reason, it should be cleaned regularly (the interval depends on the level of dust in the environment in which the Ofen is operated).
  • Page 33 For example, if the fans of the Ofen oscillate between 28 and 32%, you can also set the fans to a constant 35%. Many people will find the slightly higher but constant noise level more pleasant than the oscillation between 28 and 32%.

The maximum expected temperature in your home is 25°C, for example. This means that it is currently 6°C colder than the maximum expected ambient temperature.

This means that you are rewarded with the use of the Braiins Pool every 300 minutes on average for operating the 21energy Bitcoin Ofen. From time to time, no block from this pool is found for much longer and sometimes much more frequently. This balances out over time and has a negligible effect on the total reward over a longer period of time.
