Keep the Akai GX-R55 clean
After prolonged use, parts of the Akai GX-R55 which come
into contact with the tape (heads, capstan, pinch roller, etc.)
become dirty due to oxide from the tape and other contamina-
tions. This can lead to such problems as "no sound", "funny
sound due to unstable tape transport" etc. Therefore, to
always enjoy good performance, you should periodically
clean your Akai GX-R55.
1 How to remove the cassette lid
depress the EJECT ( & ) button to open the cassette
holder. Lift the cassette lid in the directon of the arrows.
To replace the cassette lid:
Align the cassette lid with the cassette holder and push
it down in the opposite direction of the arrows.
2 Keeping the heads demagnetized
After much use, slight magnetism can build up on the
recording and playback heads. This can cause loss in
high frequency sound and increases in distortion.
Therefore, you should periodically demagnetize the
heads with the optional accessory Head Demagnetizer
AH-15. Demagnitize the metal parts of the capstan as
well.
3 Let's keep the cabinet clean too
@ Clean the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth.
@ Ifthe cabinet is very dirty, cean with mild detergent.
@ Never use alcohol, paint thinner, etc. to clean the
cabinet (they will damage the finish.)

1. Comment enlever le couvercle de cassette
Appuyez sur la touche d'éjection (EJECT * ) pour ouvrir le récep-
table de cassette. Soulevez le couvercle dans le sens des fléches.

2. Conservez les tétes démagnétisées
Aprés de nombreuses utilisations, un léger magnétisme peut se dé-
velopper sur les tétes d'enregistrement et de reproduction. Ceci
peut provoquer une perte dans les sons de haute fréquence et aug-
menter les distorsions. Il faut donc démagnétiser pétiodiquement la
téte avec le démagnétiseur de téte AH-15 (accessoire en option).
Démagnétisez également les parties métalliques du cabestan.
3. Conservez également propre le coffret
@ Nettoyez le coffret avec un chiffon doux et sec.
@ Silecoffret est trés sale, nettoyez-le avec un détergent doux,.
@ Nvutilisez jamais d'alcool, de diluaiit, etc., pour nettoyer le cof- .
fret. Ils endommageraient la finition.

CK-300 ou uné bande de net-
toyage (accessoires en option).

exclusivement pour magné-
tocassettes. Nettoyez le
GX-R55 avant d'effectuer
