3.9.4 Procedures for setting the system name and patient couch type
The procedures for setting the system name and patient couch type in the GMSC PWB
are described below.
After the settings are made, the GMSC PWB retains the set values until they are
overwritten.
<Tools required>
1) PC
2) Cable for service use (USB-B cable)
3) HyperTerminal, etc.
<Setting procedure>
(1) Turn OFF the power switch of the gantry.
(2) Connect the USB-B cable between CN404A of the GMSC and the PC.
(3) Start HyperTerminal on the PC.
(4) Turn ON the power switch of the gantry and start up the GMSC. The following
display appears on the PC monitor.
FWR_INF:GMS Firmware start up.

(5) Perform the following steps to set the system name and patient couch type.
(a) Press the [Enter] key.
(b) Enter "system" and press the [Enter] key.
(c) If the system name that has been set does not match that of DSW1 on the
GMSC PWB, the system selection menu is displayed.
Otherwise, the patient couch type selection menu is displayed. Proceed to
step (d).
