Mechanism of virus suppression by electrolyzed water
The hypochlorous acid and hydroxyl radicals in the electrolyzed water destroy the spikes (viral protein) on the
surface of viruses, effectively preventing infection.

SANYO Electrolyzed Water Technology
The Virus Washer is based on electrolyzed water
technology developed by SANYO. This system
electrolyzes tap water containing chloride ions to
generate hypochlorous acid and hydroxyl radicals,
which are two different types of active oxygen
species that suppress viruses. Maintaining a high
concentration of these active oxygen species in the
