    1. General Information CONGRATULATIONS on the purchase of your new SEERS MEDICAL product. If these operating instructions are adhered to, the product will provide many years of safe use. If these operating instructions are not followed, your warranty could be invalid! Always keep these Instructions for Use available for reference.

  • Page 7 How To Use Wheel System (Retractable) Lever Down Lever Up Wheels ENGAGED and ON Wheels RETRACTED and OFF WARNING! This product is not designed for patient transportation. Ensure wheels are retracted/locked prior to patient transfer or treatment. Disconnect the electric lead prior to re-locating the product, ensuring the lead is not trapped in the mechanism.

    Adjustable Foot CAUTION! Ensure Wheels are retracted before adjusting the adjustable foot. Ensure the wheels are retracted and off. Adjust the foot by turning clockwise or anti clockwise until the couch is stable on all legs. Secure the foot by tightening the nut until it locks against the threaded cap.

  • Page 10 Adjusting the Height of the Couch Hydraulic Elevation To elevate the couch, push the pedal downwards with your foot. Repeat until correct height is achieved. To lower couch, raise the pedal upwards, by putting your toe underneath the lever, lifting the lever upwards until the couch reaches the desired height.

  • Page 12 Adjusting the backrest & footrest Gas Assisted Sections To raise the backrest, simply grasp the release lever towards the upholstery and adjust the backrest to the angle desired. Releasing the lever automatically locks the section at that angle. To lower, grasp the lever again, and lower the backrest to the required angle.
  • Page 13 g. Arm Loops 1. Locate Arm Loop into Holder Bracket on side of couch, and secure with indexed lever. 2. To gain more movement on the lever, depress button in centre of the lever, and pull out lever and move lever to opposite direction. 3.
  • Page 14 i. Fold-Down Leg Extension (Gynae Only) Raise leg extension until horizontal. Slide ball knob full length of slot to engage support bar into socket, on BOTH sides on the underside of the leg extension Grasp leg extension and rotate through 90 degrees. CAUTION! The Fold Down Leg Extension is NOT designed to be used as a seat.
  • Page 15 j. Removable Leg Extension (Gynae Only) To use the extension, simply engage the extension into the receiving brackets and secure by tightening the locking lever on the underside. CAUTION! The Removable Leg Extension is not designed to be used as a seat. Patient weight should not be concentrated on the end of the couch.
  • Page 16 l. Proximity Stool (Supplied with Echocardiography Couch) WARNING! THE STOOL MUST NOT BE UNDERNEATH THE UPHOLSTERY WHEN RAISING OR LOWERING THE COUCH. When the clinician is using the seat stool, ensure legs and feet do not enter the mechanism of the couch as entrapment could occur.
  • Page 17 m. Patient Support Handle (Echocardiography Only) To secure the Patient Support Handle in desired position, simply tighten the locking clamp on the underside of the upholstery section.
  • Page 18 n. Side Supports & Rails WARNING! Children must not play with the couch at any time. Adequately supervise children in the proximity of the couch. Ensure the Side Support Rails are Fully Engaged into Socket, prior to use. To Raise the side support rail, simply lift and rotate 180 degrees, and then engage fully into socket.

    o. Paper Roll Holder To fit and change the paper towel, simply spring the frame outwards, and remove the tube. Place the towel roll onto the tube and refit into paper towel holder, by springing frame out gently. Releasing the frame once the tube is in place.
  • Page 20 q. Leg Supports & Stirrups 1. To adjust the angle of the leg support, loosen locking knob on underside (A) and adjust support to desired position. 2. Re-tighten locking knob to secure. 3. To adjust height of the leg support, loosen locking knob on underside (B) and adjust support to desired height 4.

    Cleaning Instructions WARNING! Disconnect the couch from the mains power supply prior to carrying out any cleaning or decontaminating. DO NOT SATURATE PRODUCT! IF THE PRODUCT GETS SATURATED DURING CLEANING, THIS COULD ACCELERATE CORROSION, REDUCING PRODUCTS LENGTH OF SERVICE. General Cleaning To get rid of any dust or marks on the surface the Faux Leather MUST be wiped DAILY with a moist soft cotton cloth.
  • Page 22 Ink, Ball point pen, Denim, hard stains Rub the stain by means of gentle circular movements with tissue dampened with 96°alcohol and water (1:1) After this rub the surface with gentle circular movement with tissue paper to dry it. Butter, oil, grease stains Wipe excess butter, oil or grease off the surface with a clean 100% Cotton white dry cloth.
  • Page 23 If DECONTAMINATING the couch then repeat steps above using a dilute Hypochlorite & warm water mixture (mixed at 10,000ppm) instead of warm water and soap. It is crucial that any staining is treated as soon as possible but never later than 24 hours.

    4. Maintenance WARNING! Disconnect the couch from the mains power supply prior to carrying out any maintenance. All electrical maintenance should be performed by a suitably qualified person.
