Associated Documents
You should have the following documents:

The Upgrade and Installation Manual, which is your primary source of
upgrade and installation information. Use the Upgrade and Installation
Manual in conjunction with the Open VMS VAX Upgrade and Installation
Supplement: VAX 6000 Series when you are performing an installation or an
upgrade.

The VMS Release Notes, which provides important information on various
aspects of the VMS operating system. You should read the current version
of the VMS Release Notes before installing, upgrading, or updating the VMS
operating system or using your VAX computer.

The hardware manuals that are supplied with your VAX computer. These
manuals provide detailed information about your system hardware.
•
If applicable, the hardware manuals and booklets supplied with your RRD40
compact disc drive, lnfoServer system, and VMS distribution compact disc
(CD).
Conventions

In this manual, every use of VAX VMS means the OpenVMS VAX operating
system.
The following conventions are used in this manual:
Ctrl/x
PFlx
A sequence such as Ctrl/x indicates that you must hold down
the key labeled Ctrl while you press another key or a pointing
device button.
A sequence such as
PFl
x
indicates that you must first press
and release the key labeled
PFl,
then press and release
another key or a pointing device button.
In examples, a key name enclosed in a box indicates that
you press a key on the keyboard. (In text, a key name is not
enclosed in a box.)
