The FM stereo signals from the broad-
casting station will be reproduced.

An irritating noise can be
heard
due
to stereo
reception
even
when the broadcasts are picked up. In
cases like this, depress this switch (2).
You will then be able to listen to the
broadcasts in mono and the level of the
noise will be reduced.
@ REC LEVEL switch
When this switch is depressed (2) the 440
Hz signal is fed out at the L and R output ter-
minals at a constant level (equivalent to FM
50% modulation). Set the input level of the
tape deck to its optimum value as follows:
1. Connect
the
tape
deck
to the stereo
amplifier.
2. Depress
the
REC
LEVEL
check
switch
(1a). A 440 Hz signal is continuously fed
out at the output terminals of the tuner.
3. Operate the recording level controls on
the tape deck,
and adjust so that the
pointers
of the
recording
level
meters
deflect within the following ranges:
¢ Cassette deck .....
—2 to 0 VU (dB)
¢ Openreel deck ....
Oto +2 VU (dB)

Use this key for receiving FM broadcasts.
¢ AM key (Left hand side)
Use this key for receiving AM broadcasts.
@® Memory write key/FCCS operation key
FM reception
e This is used to operate '[FCCS|
and to
memorize
the
data and broad-
casting station in the preset key (7) auto-
matically. When the memory write key is
depressed, the
operation is first
performed
and~upon
completion,
the
memory write key indicator keeps lighted
for about 5 seconds. If the preset key Mis
depressed
during
this interval
and
the
data and broadcasting station are
memorized, the indicator goes off.
For details, refer to the sections entitled
'Computer search system functions'' and
"Memorizing
the broadcasting
stations
into the preset keys."

reception
e This is used to memorize the broadcasting
station into the preset key @ . When the
memory write key is depressed, the key
keeps lighted for about 5 seconds. If the
preset key) is depressed during this in-
terval
and
the broadcasting
station
is
memorized,
the indicator goes off. For
details,
refer
to
the
section
entitled
"'Memorizing
the broadcasting
stations
into the preset keys."

RANDOM
ACCESS
PRESET)
A total of 10 AM and FM broadcasting sta-
tions can be stored at random in these keys.
Once preset, the stations can be recalled at
random simply by depressing the preset keys
without having to select the function mode
with the FUNCTION key ©). The preset keys
are seif-illuminating and so which preset key
has been used for reception is visible at a
glance.
@®.TUNING key
1. Automatic Tuning (FM only)
Set the FM
TUNING
switch @) to the
released (C1) position.
SWEEP UP ........... When this key is de-
pressed, the reception frequencies are
swept continuously up the scale until
the
frequency
of a station
actually
broadcasting is reached. The sweeping
then stops automatically. The changes
in the frequencies are as follows:
