Before shipment, this instrument was in-
spected and found to be free of mechanical and
electrical defects. As soon a s the instrument i s
unpacked, inspect for any damage that may have
occurred in transit.
Save a l l packing materials
until the inspection i s completed. If damage i s
found, proceed a s described in the Claim for
Damage i n Shipment section of the warranty page
a t the rear of this manual.

MECHANICAL CHECK

This check should confirm that there a r e no
broken knobs or connectors, that the cabinet and
panel surfaces a r e free of dents and scratches,
and that the meter i s not scratched or cracked.

ELECTRICAL CHECK

The instrument should be checked against i t s
electrical specifications.
Section V includes an
"in-cabinet" performance check to verify proper
instrument operation.

INSTALLATION DATA

The instrument i s shipped ready for bench
operation. I t i s necessary only t o connect the in-
strument to a source of power and i t i s ready for
operation.

LOCATION
2-10 This instrument i s air cooled.
Sufficient
s p a c e should be allotted s o that a free flow of
cooling air c a n reach the s i d e s and rear of the in-
strument when it is i n operation. I t should be used
i n a n area where the ambient temperature does not
exceed 50°C.
2-11 RACK MOUNTING
2-12 This instrument may be rack mounted in a
standard 19 inch rack panel either alongside a
similar unit or by itself.

show how both types of installations are accom-
plished.
