Playback Mode Servo
In the playback
mode,
both
the scanner
and

capstan
servo
systems
are
operative.
The
scanner
servo
functions
in the same
way
as it does in all
other modes; it is a simple speed regulator. However,
the
capstan
is servo
driven
to ensure correct
tape
® flip flop 10601,
position as the head begins its pass across the tape.
