If the unit is configured for the freeze protection feature to be active (which is the default condition), then whenever power is supplied to the unit, and the unit senses the temperature is below 40°F, the fan motor and electric heater are turned on, and will warm the room to 50°F.If Freeze protection is not required, change the configuration switch to turn the feature off (see section J.3 Dip switches on unit configuration).
