DISPLAYING THE REPEATER DETAILS

You can check the details information of the repeater.
1 Select [Repeater Detail] in the Digital Function Menu.
The confirmation screen appears.
2 Press [ ]/[ ].
Each press switches between the access repeater details
screen and gateway CQ repeater details screen.

FAST DATA COMMUNICATION

Fast data communications can be performed by using the
voice band for data communications when operating in DV/DR
mode.
1 Access Menu No. 984.
Select the method for connecting (USB or Bluetooth) with
the external device for data communication.
2 Select [Data Mode] in the Digital Function Menu.

Connecting with a PC
Use a commercially available data communication cable to
connect the USB connector of the transceiver to a PC.
Software Setting for Data Communication
Refer to the followings and complete the settings.
Port: Select the COM port number used by this transceiver.
Note:
¡ The COM port number used by this transceiver may be 5 or
higher depending on the PC environment. In this case, use a
communication software that allows you to set the COM port
number to 5 or higher.
Data Communication Operation
When performing data communication operation, refer to the
instruction manual of the communication software.
1 Set the Callsign of your station, the other station, and
repeater.
2 Perform the operation according to the instruction manual
and other documents of the communication software.
3 When a text is entered in the communication software
screen, that text will be transmitted automatically.
Data TX End Timing
This function is to set the delay time until return from fast data
TX to RX in accordance with the TX timing of the PC software.
1 Access Menu No. 614.
2 Select [Off], [0.5], [1], [1.5], or [2] seconds.

EMR COMMUNICATION

The Enhanced Monitor Request (EMR) mode is a function
used in DV/DR mode to, for example, contact somebody in an
emergency.
Note:
¡ This function is forced to open the squelch of all of the

Adjusting the Volume for EMR Signal Reception
You can set the volume level within the range of 1 to 50 when
an EMR signal is received. However, if the volume level set
by the [VOL] control is higher, the reception will be at that
volume.
