How to use the timer
The timer incorporated in the tuner can be used in the following four ways.
3. Timer play with the cassette deck

be careful of the volume level on the amplifier.

Set the desired start time and the broadcast station
according to ''How to set the timer program'' on page
26.
Remove the disc if one is loaded in the CD player.
Set the TIMER switch on the cassette deck to OFF.
Press
the
''TUNER''

key on
the
amplifier.
Adjust the volume level with the VOLUME key on the
amplifier.
Set the POWER
switch of the amplifier or tuner to
STANDBY.
When the preset time is reached, power is automatically
supplied to the tuner and broadcast reception begins.

Set the desired start time according to ''How to set
the timer program'
on page 26. (Leave the preset
channel on the tuner set to any desired position.)
Load a disc in the CD player.
Set the TIMER switch on the cassette deck to OFF.
Adjust the volume level with the VOLUME key on the
amplifier.
Set the POWER
switch of the amplifier or tuner to
STANDBY.
When the preset is time reached, the Input Selector will
be automatically set to the CD position and play will start
in the CD player.

Load a recorded cassette tape into the cassette deck.
Set the DOLBY NR switch of the cassette deck depen-
ding on the tape used.
Set the DIRECTION
switch of the cassette deck as
desired.
Set the TIMER
switch
of the cassette
deck to the
PLAY position.
Adjust the volume level with the VOLUME key on the
amplifier.
Set the POWER
switch of the amplifier or tuner to
STANDBY.
When the preset time is reached, power is automatically
supplied to the cassette deck and tape playback starts.

Set the start and stop times with the tuner according
to 'How to set the timer program'' on page 26.
Load a recordable cassette in the A deck or the B
deck.
Set the DOLBY NR switch of the cassette deck to the
desired position.
Set the DIRECTION switch of the cassette deck to the
desired position.
Set the TIMER switch of the cassette deck to REC.
When performing timer recording (unattended recor-
ding), be sure to minimize the volume
level of the
amplifier, or set the MUTING switch of the amplifier to
ON.
Set the POWER
switch of the amplifier or tuner to
STANDBY.
When
the
preset
time
is reached,
recording
starts
automatically on the cassette deck.
