4.1.
connect red clamp (positive) to positive battery terminal.

connect black clamp (negative) to negative battery terminal.
4.3.
Green led should now glow, showing correct connection / protection

if red led glows - the unit is faulty and should not be used until repair has been carried out by a competent person.
