Format the Memory Card

Memory cards must be formatted after being used or formatted in other devices.
Format the card as described below.

Formatting Memory Cards
Formatting memory cards permanently deletes any data they may contain. Be sure to copy any
photographs and other data you wish to keep to a computer before proceeding (0 134).

Turn the camera on.

Display format options.
Press the G button to display the menus.
Highlight Format memory card in the setup
menu and press 2. For more information on
using the menus, see page 13.

Highlight Yes.
To exit without formatting the memory card,
highlight No and press J.

Press J.
The message at right will be displayed while
the card is formatted. Do not remove the
memory card or remove or disconnect the
power source until formatting is complete.
