Removal

1
Slacken the screws in the flange connection and remove.
GEA Tuchenhagen recommends using a scriber to remove the O-ring.
When removing the O-ring with the scriber, the scriber can slip off. There is a
danger of injury and the O-ring groove can be damaged!
Pick the O-ring from the groove using the scriber.
Clean the O-ring groove.

Fitting

2
When greasing the O-ring observe the safety data sheets issued by the
lubricant manufacturer.
Grease the O-ring evenly and very thinly.
GEA Tuchenhagen recommends the lubricant type PARALIQ GTE 703 (order no.: 413-064).
It is easy to stretch the O-ring when fitting as its inner diameter is approx. 10%
smaller than the diameter of the groove.
To prevent the O-ring coming off before the flange connection is finally
assembled, the ring must not be twisted and no air must penetrate behind it
after fitting. A twisted O-ring can turn itself out of the groove and/or any air
entrapped behind it can expand and thus cause the O-ring to come off.
To allow for venting after fitting the O-ring, TUCHENHAGEN recommends using
e.g. a piece of thread.
