This owner's guide and any additional inserts are considered part of the product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarize yourself with all operating and safety instructions. INTENDED USE: This product is intended to circulate the air in indoor living spaces only in the United States. This product is not intended for commercial or industrial use. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage or injury due to unauthorized use or product modification. Failure to follow these directions will void the product warranty.


Risk to Children and Impaired Persons
Supervision is required during the installation, operation, cleaning and maintenance of this product by children 12 years of age and younger and anyone with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance, its parts and packaging material.

INSTALLATION WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, observe the following:

  • burn hazard Place this product away from curtains, draperies, tablecloths and other fabrics, since they may be drawn into the product, damage the motor and/ or cause a fire.
  • No part of this product (the appliance, power cord, plug, packaging, etc.) should be placed near furnaces, fireplaces, stoves or other high temperature heat sources. Do not use this product in a window, on an uneven or unstable surface, or near water.
  • The appliance, power supply, power cord and plug cannot come into contact with water. Do not use this product on wet surfaces. Do not use this product in a bathtub or shower or position product where it may fall into a bathtub, laundry, swimming pool or other water container. Do not use this product outdoors or expose it to weather or elements.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. The cord should not hang over edges of counters or be placed where it can be crimped or closed in doors. Place appliance near an easily accessible outlet so the product can be unplugged quickly during an emergency.

  • To reduce likelihood of circuit overload, fire and electric shock, do not operate with a solid state speed device, such as a dimmer control switch.

The detachable external power supply and cord have no user replaceable parts. If the power supply or cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Use only the detachable external power supply and cord that comes with your product.
  • Before plugging power cord into electrical outlet, be sure that all electrical information on the rating label, including voltage, is compatible with your outlet's power supply.
  • Do not sit or stand on product.
  • Never use the cord as a handle or otherwise yank, strain or stretch the power cord.

    While the product is plugged in, do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any input or output opening as this may cause risk of electric shock or fire, or damage the product.
  • A loose fit between wall outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug. Discontinue use of the product in this outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlets.
  • Before moving, repositioning, servicing, cleaning and when not in use, use the product controls to turn off the power and then unplug. Always unplug device to avoid possible injury due to remote activation of the product. To disconnect from outlet, grasp and pull only the plug. Also, power off and unplug if the product will be left unattended for an extended period of time or during electrical storms.

  • Always unplug device before servicing or cleaning to avoid possible injury due to remote activation of the product.
  • Clean your product regularly, only as is instructed in this manual. Prior to cleaning, turn off the power on your product and unplug. Do not use gasoline, thinners, solvents, ammonias or other chemicals for cleaning.
    Refer to the CLEANING instructions provided.

WALL ASSEMBLY

Drill required. Screwdriver required.

Your ATOM 2W AE comes pre-installed on the wall mount. Prior to wall mount set up, please detach your product from the wall mount by loosening the (3) captive screws (A) located on the bottom of the wall mount tray.
WALL ASSEMBLY - Step 1 - Loosening captive screws

  1. Remove wall mount cover (B) to identify where anchor screws will be inserted into wall. To remove wall mount cover, slide up until fully removed.
    NOTE: Do not hang Wall Mount higher than 60" from floor.
  2. Using 7/32 drill bit (not included), drill holes into wall for (2) yellow wall anchors.
  3. Insert wall anchors into wall
  4. Align anchor screw locations on wall mount with wall anchors. Use integrated wall mount level (C) to ensure it is level.
  5. Using Phillips head screwdriver (not included) secure (2) anchor screws into wall anchors.
  6. Secure your ATOM 2W AE to the wall mount tray using the (3) captive screws
  7. Feed the DC power adaptor cord connector through the hole located at the back of the wall mount (D).

  8. Replace wall mount cover. It will click into place.
  9. Connect DC receiver to DC power adaptor cord connector
  10. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
  11. Your ATOM 2W AE is now fully assembled and ready for use.

warning NOTE: If using wall mount, ensure it is fully mounted and ATOM 2W AE is fully secured before use.

HOW TO USE

  1. Insert power cord plug into port that extends from the bottom of the product. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
  2. Touch ( ) to power ON or OFF. Your circulator returns to last saved memory setting.
  3. Select desired speed by pressing -/+. Speed is indicated by number of white LEDS as shown on the display.

  4. Double tap at any area along the control panel perimeter for targeted airflow. The airflow will then point where directed.

OSCILLATION

  1. Tap and drag your finger along the control panel perimeter to set the desired oscillation direction and angle. The oscillation path and direction of airflow is indicated by the blue LEDs as shown on the display.
    HOW TO USE - Step 2 - Using the oscillation
    Tip: To activate infinite 360 oscillation, swipe finger along control panel perimeter in full circle and overlap where you started.
  2. To change oscillation path, tap anywhere to pause current oscillation path and then drag your finger along the control panel's perimeter to create new oscillation path.
    Note: The display will dim after 3 seconds of inactivity and reawaken with any touch to the control panel.

GETTING CONNECTED

Before product setup, download or update the Amazon Alexa app from your mobile device's app store and ensure your phone is connected to your 2.4 GHz WIFI network.

  1. Plug in your ATOM 2W AE.
  2. Open the Alexa app and tap the MORE icon to add a device. Follow the on-screen instructions. If prompted by the app, scan the 2D barcode located on the product. If 2D barcode doesn't work or you are unable to locate your 2D barcode, use the manual setup in the app.
  3. Once successfully connected, a message will appear in the Amazon Alexa app and the power button on your ATOM 2W AE will be illuminated blue. Your fan is ready to use.

FACTORY RESET:
If for any reason, there is a problem with your product or you wish to disconnect the product from your network you can reset it to factory settings. Simply press and hold the POWER and SPEED "+" together for 6 seconds or until all LED lights begin to flash. To reconnect your ATOM 2W AE, follow steps above.

USING ALEXA


Once connected to Amazon Alexa, your ATOM 2W AE can be controlled via your voice with any Alexa Echo device or the Alexa App on your phone. To control your product, use simple voice controls like:
"Alexa, turn ON / OFF <<fan name>>."
"Alexa, set fan speed to 1/2/3/4 on <<fan name>>."
"Alexa, set fan speed to LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH / TURBO on <<fan name>>."

NOTE: 1=LOW / 2=MEDIUM / 3=HIGH / 4=TURBO
Fan speed can be controlled by either voice command shown above.

"Alexa, DECREASE/INCREASE fan speed on <<fan name>>."
"Alexa, set direction to 180/135/90/45/22 LEFT/RIGHT on <fan name>>."
"Alexa, set direction to CENTER on <<fan name>>."
"Alexa, set oscillation angle to 1-360 degrees on <<fan name>>."
"Alexa, set continuous rotation to <<OFF/RIGHT/LEFT>> on <<fan name>>."


You can also use the Amazon Alexa app as a remote control for your ATOM 2W AE. See app for details.


You can unplug fan from wall to immediately disconnect from Alexa device control. Follow FACTORY RESET instructions to permanently disconnect device from network, if needed.

CLEANING

Because your ATOM 2W AE moves a substantial amount of air, it will need regular cleaning. The fan has no user serviceable parts inside and cannot be opened for cleaning. Never clean the product in any manner other than instructed in this owner's guide.


Always unplug device before servicing or cleaning to avoid possible injury due to remote activation of the product.

  1. Power off and unplug the unit prior to cleaning.
  2. Dust or wipe the circulator with a damp cloth.
  3. Use the brush attachment on your household vacuum cleaner to vacuum any accumulated dust.

Note: The motor is permanently lubricated and requires no oiling.

STORAGE

During the off-season or after extended periods of non-use, you may choose to store your circulator. To ensure long life of the product, it is recommended to store your circulator by following these instructions:

  1. Unplug power cord and bundle loosely.
  2. Cover, or place back in retail carton if available. This prevents circulator from accumulating dust over time.
  3. Store circulator in cool and dry location.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION

The unit fails to
power on

Unit is not plugged in. Plug Power Cord into electrical outlet.
Ensure unit fan speed setting is selected.
Unit is damaged or in need of repair. Cease usage and unplug. Contact Consumer Service for assistance.
The outlet is worn or damaged. Try another outlet or contact a qualified electrician.

Airflow is weak
or slow

Unit set to a low speed setting. Adjust to a higher speed setting.
Airflow is blocked. Remove obstruction.
Adjust direction of airflow towards the user.

GFCI has tripped

Under certain conditions, it is possible for a reset GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet to trip when the user is changing speeds on a Vornado circulator. In this event, change to an outlet that is not connected to a GFCI device. It could also indicate a weak or defective GFCI outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to check the GFCI outlet.

Cannot Connect Unit to my Amazon
Alexa Account

You might be connected to a 5 GHz WiFi network. Disconnect and reconnect to a 2.4 GHz network and try the setup again.
Your WiFi signal might not be strong enough. Move closer to your WiFi router and try the setup again.
