Aperture Priority Mode

In Aperture Priority mode, the camera deter-
mines the shutter speed automatically accord-
ing to an aperture value set manually.

Set the Mode Dial to ";",
then power on the
camera.

Set any desired menu
items.
Note:
• The available mode is described below the
function title in each page. You can set the
functions indicated with ";" in that
description.

Press l or m to set the desired F-stop.
• You can select 9 steps from F2.0 to F8.0.

Press j or k to set the exposure value
(EV).
• You can select 9 steps from D2.0EV to
H2.0EV

Press the Shutter button half-
way down to focus on the
subject.
• The camera automatically
adjusts the shutter speed.

Press the Shutter button fully to
capture the image.
About aperture setting
The larger the aperture (smaller f-number)
the more blurred the background and
foreground will become. On the other
hand, the smaller the aperture (bigger f-
number) the clearer the background and
foreground will become. You may set a
small f-number for portraits. And you may
set a big f-number to capture a subject
with background/foreground in various
degrees of focus.
• Use a larger F-stop value to focus on both the
subject and background.
• Use a smaller F-stop value to clearly capture
both subject and background.
